Re: Advice request for Threats of Negative DSR & Feedback

From memory payment reminders can not be disabled for non store holders, it may have changed now.

Originally when I first started selling I wanted to disable them and could not, mainly because I had a 7 day payment requirement and I thought at the time it would be rude to send out a reminder after 4 days.

With a store I don't use them and the only auto email I us is when an item is posted. I will send out a personal email if someone doesn't pay within 7 days and if they don;t answer I open an UID.

I'm a seller. I use them. And i use the automatic Non Payment thingy. I don't have a very big problem with non payment and luckily most of my buyers pay pretty quickly, so they wouldn't get the reminders

In saying that as a buyer, I have bought a fair few pick up only things the last few weeks, and as I will pay on Pick Up on the weekend, rather than poay immediately as I always do, I have been getting these notices myself, and yes! They really annoy me! I know it's silly as I have been in contact with the seller etc and arrangements are in place, but it feels like a bit of a reprimand LOLOL

I also have another seller who is taking their time with the combined postage invoice. I'm not worried, the seller has been exceptional and is doing me a favour on items they really expected would be pick up, but they did offer courier, so it's taking them a few days to get it all together (they're just a hobby seller or part time, so this would be new for them) And the reminder from eBay on day 2 really annoyed me!

Roll on tomorrow when I can pick up and mark as payed. The reminder currently on my home page is "You have 12 items to pay for" - i feel like a bloody criminal! It's just there glaring at me reminding me of how slack I have been (even though these items are Pick Up and arrangements are in place with the sellers - and the 3 where I am waiting on combined invoice) I'm like, HELLOOOOOO, I KNOW I bought the items, I pressed the buttons, and I KNOW I haven't picked them up yet cos they're not in my house!

So it has given me something to think about from a sellers perspective, but so far it hasn't bothered me enough to change my operating practises, maybe next week once my uni assignments are in i will think about it a bit more.

Of course I won't take that out on my sellers, I think that there is either more to your story or your buyer is just an absolute tool who has his undies pulled up a little high or needs to buy them a few sizes bigger, but 18 odd reminders in the last couple of weeks for me, really were a bit irritating.

Re: Advice request for Threats of Negative DSR & Feedback

In all the time I have been on ebay I have not had any customers offended by payment reminders , however I have had only two offended customers regarding me opening an unpaid case , one emailed me that  they dont remember the transaction and therefore it did not happen !, funny , and the other swore that they had every intention of making payment eventually! , even more funny ,but  if you have made a payment arrangement/s then email that customer/s only and let them know that ebay will send payment reminders regardless of the arrangements they made with you  , you could write someting in your decription page regarding payment reminders / unpaid items or threats being reported as a lot of sellers do , also I would't put up with any threats for positive feed back as it is against ebay policy it is called feed back extortion , tha'ts my advice , experience anyway .
