After purchase, can I request buyers phone number without a penalty?

Hi,

I have just had a buyer purchase a couple of items,  I would like to contact the buyer before postage...if I ask via ebay for either contact phone or email, or give my details,  will I be breaking any rules?

Once you are in a transaction with a buyer you can exchange details through eBay messaging.

Thank you,  I wasn't sure.  I thought it would have had the information on the paypal payment...but no!

Just keep in mind that messages like that can still be read by ebay in case you and the buyer have made deals for more purchases.

As long as a buyer has made a purchase you can exchange details.

The eBay system recognises there is a current transaction in place and it resets once the transaction has finished.

Especially necessary for pick up items.

If you have access to the ebay app, it shows the buyers phone number after they've paid.
