Anyone know how to find the blurb on "payments with PAYPAL must be register

Hi all, Happy New Year..

I have sold to an International buyer today, and sent them a invoice with  PAYPAL only option for payment and an extra $9.20 is required to register your parcel. Not my rules but Paypal's.

They sent me the payment WITHOUT the registration monies.

Can anyone remember the location of this blurb so I can copy and send to  them.

This info was on the original listing , but I cant find the blurb about it  .. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Its not a matter of buyer must pay for registered post when using Paypal, its YOUR protection as a seller.

So for you to say " its not my rules its Paypals " is actually wrong.

If the item is valued at a price that you couldn't afford to risk non arrival, pay the registration money yourself.

Seller's payment instructionsPayment within 3 days pls.  This item will be sent by registered mail within Australia. INSURANCE: Registered Mail automatically includes $100.00 insurance cover. If you want additional cover up to the value of the item it is available at a rate of $1.45 per $100 covered. Registration for International is $9.60 and covers the first $100. Additional costs apply for cover up to the value of item. Local taxes and duties are not included in the postage cost and are the responsibility of the buyer.

Ewes, what you needed to do if you wanted your international parcels sent registered, was to choose that option when you set up the international postage calculator thingy.

Putting your blurb at the VERY bottom of a page that most buyers won't even look at ie they would have to click on Postage-See All Details, then scroll right the way down-means you can't now basically turn around & say to buyer,oh you have to pay extra for registered.

I'm just trying to help you see where you've gone wrong here & its not the buyers fault or responsibility so I hope you don't take offence.

I would strongly suggest you revise your listings that have no bids & any future ones so that international registered is covered in the postage cost & not hidden away basically as an optional extra.:-)

As Foxy said they could pay without registration as you made it an optional extra, Paypal do not require anything to be sent by registered post, what they say is that if you want seller protection then you must post by a qualifying delivery method, nowhere does it say that the buyer has to pay more than the quoted cost for you to be covered.

Have you looked into Pack & Track, it is available to a limited number of countries but is probably the cheapest option for parcels that you want to have seller protection for.

there is no need for paypal seller protection if it registered as it is covered by AusPost.

hi, yes thks for that ,I thought that was the deal too registration is for only if the parcel gets lost in transit then the buyer can claim against Aust Post.

Very confusing. confucious say..mmm

Re: Anyone know how to find the blurb on "payments with PAYPAL must be register

I was just making the point that paypal seller protection is useless. I think the seller makes the claim if it is not delivered.

I also find it strange that buyers seem to think it is OK not to choose registered post because it is for the sellers protection, and it is somehow the sellers fault if something has gone missing.

If you had it is a condition to choose registered post for international orders you should make the buyer aware of it. If they decide not to go through with the order ask them for a mutual cancellation. or cancel it based on not agreeing on terms (not sure if you get the FVF back though in the second case)

That is the scenario if you were dealing with someone privately, but seeing as have agreed to ebay n PayPal's conditions, their rules are that the seller is responsible for safe and proven delivery.

Keep in mind, even if buyer receives item and opens a Not received case with PayPal, if you cannot prove delivery, PayPal sees in favour of buyer.

I thought it was that we had to prove lodgement at the post office the the correct address or postcode (not actual delivery)

For a missing parcel it is the sender who has to make the claim as they have all the proof of posting, they can assign the right to claim over to the buyer but would have to send them all the info and lodgement advice etc.

For a damaged item if the PO agrees that it is their fault (and it isn't often they will do that) it is better if the buyer makes the claim as they have the item and the packaging which has to be submitted before the PO will accept responsibility or not.

again the other party can put in the claim but would have to have the broken item and packaging returned to them.
