Hi All
I have just noticed today when relisting (not through seller hub) that there is a new feature for eBay AU that you are able to put a discount on the item when a buyer purchases more than one item. Maybe it has been there awhile and not noticed.
It is under the section SELL IT FASTER below the Promotional listing section (which is a cost as we know)
Not a bad idea but not sure that the buyer would be aware of the offer in the listing as I have only done it on a couple and it is not showing anywhere.
If it works I might consider adding it in the description.
We all have had trouble with store promotional and discounts not working all the time so maybe eBay is heading down this path.

They are definetely trying to become involved in selling the items because when selling an item they also had
a message that if you have a 10 day listing they'll keep reducing by 5 percent everytime it relists and they'll let
watchers know that it has been reduced.

I have a volume discount offer which I can opt into . The offer is sitting in Seller Hub.
The more a buyer buys, the cheaper it is for them.
I haven't had a good look at it yet, so I'm not sure of all the details.

I take it you mean volume discount.
Easy to use now it is on the listing but needs to be edited via promotions. If you select a discount for 3+ it shows as seperate purchase buttons on the listing showing the price for that quantity.
Best thing is you do not need to keep extending the offer as it can be set for years not months.

My understanding is that it applies only to multiples of the same item.
I already offer blanket volume discounts, by dollar value, so I won't be using it.

Dave - It is an option on single items. I have placed it on a few just see what it looks like. It shoes on the single listing.
*5% off when you buy 2 or more*
I first thought it was for multiples but it is available on all single items.
I am using it on items that I hae a full range off and it may encourage buyers to buy more than one. I have free shipping on these items so in effect is not a discount to my bottom line as I can post two items for the same price as one.

That's interesting what you say about it being available for single listings. I read a fair bit of it and it said it was only for items you have more than one of. It also said that it applies if you buy more than one different item, but what I'd like to know is what happens if they buy two different items that have different percentage discounts on them, as in which one is counted as the 'second item', so which discount applies?

Hadn't thought of the situation with a variation of the % of discount.
I am only doing it on products I have a full range and free postage. The discount % is all the same. I am happy to promote a discount in this way as it actually saves me money. Free postage 2 posted for the price of one - hence saving of around $9.00
