Can someone put reserved on a buy it now for some one else to buy.?inever seen that before..

Yes, it's a special listing a seller has put up - they have already negotiated with the buyer

I do it all the time, custom listings arranged with and for a specific customer. There are no specific policies that prevent it, and specifying a reserve for a specific member would then form part of the terms of sale for that listing and it is a breach of policy for buyers to purchase items if they don't meet the terms of sale.

I've bought a few items in the last year or so that were especially reserved for me.  It's really good when sellers are so obliging...but the again, I'd be surprised if anyone asking for a special listing would then pull out of the buying the item. That wouldn't make sense, so I imagine reserving an item can be good for sellers too.

I've seen a lot more reserved listings on 'Betsy' due to the amount of handmade items sold.  It's a good way to commission an item in the colours and style you want I guess.
