I have recently had someone msg me they wanted a refund due to the fact there parcel has not arrived, i have asked them to be patient and updated their tracking (despite them having this anyway) understand australia post has a lot of parcel going out and they have a big backlog.
now about a month ago i had a guy wanting a refund due to item not being delivered - it was coming on 2 months - tracking info was all over the place went from 2 different suburbs in melbourne back and forth etc. anyway i ended up giving him a refund $85 + $19 postage and said 'if it does turn up please post it back - he agreed however said he didn't trust australia post and said he would just pay me my money back - it did turn up about a week later - tracking said it did, he didnt pay, i msg him and he still didnt pay or reply - so he got a refund and the $85 product. (i have email evidence saying he will pay) should i give this guy back feedback?
I have no problem with given people refunds but when its the fault of Australia post, long or slow delivery (i can understand that's probably a nightmare of a job in current circumstances but) where do we stand as sellers, constantly giving refunds to people because items are taking their time to deliver????

You are too gullible!
Unless a buyer opens a case, do not refund!
Move out your handling time to at least 10 days to give you a buffer. Or even maybe 15+ days.
Whats the point of having tracking if you're going to refund just because a buyer asks?
Very few buyers will come back and repay you. There are processes in place to protect sellers, but you need to stick to them.
Also, buyers can only get positive feedback, and has been this way for more than 10 years. You cannot give a "false" positive either or the buyer can get it removed.

You should know as a seller that you cannot leave positive feedback for a buyer with negative remarks, and if the buyer complains the remarks will be removed and YOU will get sanction for it.

Increase your handling time to 7 or 10 business days, that should give you an adequate buffer.
Edit. Snap Jelly.
