I wish Aus Post would pick up parcels and letters as well as deliver them.
Two letter boxes out the front, an inbox and an outbox would be *FABULOUS*.
That way, I can avoid this horrible hot weather! LOL
Don't they have that in the US?

hehe. I got a red letter box at the end of my street, next to a milk bar. So I kill two birds with one stone. Post my parcels AND get a yummy ice cream.

Yes the US has a lot of things we don't not all of them good though 🙂

I think Priority Mail is collected from US sellers however it's expensive for buyers.

yes that have that in rural usa, another reason the US post office is almost bankrupt. in fact this month they have discontinued Saturday mail deliveries (something australia discontinued in about 1960).
US post office is in real trouble, cant afford to emply new staff, cant afford to pay dues to existing employees, a very very sad situation.
be thankful for what we have.
oh, and for a fee, and if you have enough mail, you can get Aust Post to collect from your business!!!

That's interesting putney! Although I'm hardly surprised. The US is in all sorts of trouble all over the place.
I'd love to have those two mail boxes though ... but I'd also love to own my own island too! 🙂

And how do you suppose you are going to prove lodgement if you have your own OUT box?
Also how do you expect the poor postie to stay on his bike if he collects a lot of items from the first few houses and adds them to his already full mail bags?
He would also have to call at every house not just the ones that he had deliveries for.
At the very least it would probably take twice as long for the round and he would probably have to go back to base several times more than on a delivery only round.
Sorry for the inconvenience but I am afraid you will not get my support on this one, postage is costly enough without having to have it doubled to cover the increased costs involved with your Utopian dream :^O

. . . .
not to mention the possibility of theft before the Postie gets there!

You could try setting up a P.O. Box number at your local Post Office. I'm not sure how they work to offer any information but it could be a way to go.

Posties used to take letters for posting, when did Aus Post cut out this service?
Or maybe it died out as all the old widows died out in this area
