Aus Post tracking of shipments to the USA

Hi everyone, I recently shipped an item to the US of A using Australia Post Pack & Track International service. I noticed that the tracking ends when the package laneded in the US, it just says something like "clearing customs" in NY, but nothing the rest of the way to the recipient. Aus Post web page does say "end-to-end tracking" however that doesn't seem to be the case. Anyone else have experienced this with Aus Post?

Aus Post tracking of shipments to the USA

Australia Post tracking to USA and Canada, can no longer be tracked, I phoned Australia Post yesterday, who confirmed this.  Once it leaves Australia and lands in USA or Canada, that is the end of the tracking.  I have an item missing, sent 3 weeks ago from Sydney to Quebec.  It landed in Canada 4 days after I posted it, but hasn't been delivered.  The buyer is saying they will wait another week, but then lodge a claim for a refund.  Is there any other way I can post to USA or Canada.  Registered Post is $21.10 and has a signature on delivery but once it arrives in destination country there is no tracking. Pack and Track is also $21.10 and is the exact same but no signature on delivery!!!!  I have looked at a few other courier

Unfortunately, USPS decided to stop displaying tracking on their website for a lot of different international services - this was last year some time, and they basically want all the other international services to have a system that matches theirs. >_>

@Pack & Track is supposed to be fully trackable from A to B, but the actual tracking is pretty hit and miss. Some third party applications are showing 1 week+ worth of events that don't show on AP's site at all. Smiley Frustrated (I even used their International courier service recently @$60, "delivery" time quoted as 2-4 business days. A week and a half later, it's still MIA. Smiley Mad )

But, you can get about 10% discount on pack and track if you qualify for Business 250 (current requirements are 250+ packages sent per year, and you need an ABN; you also get discounts on a lot of domestic services, eg express, and extra cover is cheaper).

Skippy Post is an alternative and can be significantly cheaper for higher volumes international sales, as you pack your items, then box them up and forward those to SP, who then forward them to Singapore and they're dispatched from there. Pricing is pretty low compared to AP, but you tend to need to be sending 3 or more packages each time because you pay $11 to get your box of packages to them first. They also quote 20-30 days for delivery, which isn't very good for eBay sales (and you won't get a lodgement scan on your items until Skippy receives the box, so you'd need like a week or more handling time).
