If a customer calls, and the item is not the right one listed on ebay.
Can we offer them another item not listed. And, if it is not listed.. must it be invoiced through ebay.
Also, can we offer any services not listed. For example, I have a rebuilt starter motor drive, they ring up for it but it was the wrong one.
Can I offer to repair that one as it is not listed on ebay, and it is an additional service.
Please help me udnerstand ebay policy..
Thank you.
Please remember this is a positive friendly environment
Thanks

I just want a honest answer.
Please tell me straight.
I want to clearly understand ebay policy.
At the moment I have taken my listings down till I can understand and get this correct.
I am just asking for people to be kind when replying.
I must always invoice people thorugh ebay, regardless.. Right.
It is not my intention to break policy, so please help me look out for myself

ER, If you sell a listed item on eBay and you have repeat direct business because you have put a card in with the parcel or some other form of marketing, that's fine. But you won't have any protection if a buyer says "I didn't get it".
Naturally any item listed on eBay should be completed through eBay.
Always best to have the fees included in the item price and list any items customers want, sent with tracking to have protection.
Simples.

Yes, if the sale was initiated on eBay it must stay on eBay. If the item they want isn't already listed, take a few minutes and list it. If it is specifically for this buyer, you don't need to go to a great deal of trouble with the description (although for your own safety it would probably be better to do so), and you will only need to add one picture to satisfy the system. As far as reconditioning services go, I am not sure about that, it is not my area of expertise, but perhaps do a search for spare parts reconditioning and see if anyone else out there is doing it.

As simply as I can put it.................
If the item is listed on ebay it must be invoiced through ebay.
If the item is not listed on ebay no-one can buy it on ebay and you do not invoice it through ebay....it is nothing to do with ebay.
Have you read the Site Map as has been suggested many times on the numerous threads you have started?
It is very simple really.

Thanks.
I will stick to invoicing through ebay.
I understand what you are all saying. I just needed to reflect.
I mean, after all Ebay found me this business I never had before.
And, even though there is a fee, the customer understands that, and paypal is simple, and money is fast.
No need to constantly track.
Sorry for the spam.

Read the bit about offers outside ebay. This includes listing one of an item in an auction and saying "I've got five more the same and will offer them first to the person who wins the auction." Saying you'll offer an additional service that isn't listed is the same thing. If you word it to say you have a slightly different one that you'll list if anyone is interested, I'm pretty sure that's okay because you're not trying to do it outside the system. Also, unless they buy something else you can't contact them directly to offer them the other one privately.

Funny that. You've gotten feedback for things you haven't apparently sold.
And what happened to your store?
