Does anyone have a link that shows the clearance schedule for street boxes over the Easter break?
Can't seem to find it on the Oz Post web site.

might be easy to hang onto the parcel until tuesday saves it sitting in some post office

here in rural Qld we do not have any pickups on holidays or public holidays or weekends or posties holiday etc
so the earliest it would be picked up if you don't post today would be tuesday afternoon. Much better to wait until Tuesday to post or even take it to PO

yes, do not post ever post in the red box over easter , overnight or any weekend, I learn't the hard way, thieves pinched everything in the box.
It wasn't until I went back to post the following weekend, there was a notice on the box, and yes one of my repeat customers did not receive her parcel , which I knew had posted that day.

Agreed...
We only drop our items in the red boxes no more than 1-hour before the scheduled clearance times.
That's why I was interested to know what the pickup schedule was for easter.

Luckily here in my neck of the woods, PO is open Saturdays 9 - 12, one of the few that provide that kind of service, and let me tell you they are BUSY!

Not just the risk of theft but other tampering such as graffiti, dropping foreign 'stuff' into the boxes etc.
If I must use a street box on a weekend I do it after lunch on Sunday - way before 'clearance time' (because
some actually do get cleared earlier, whatever fits in with their run) - BUT I make sure the box is situated
at a busy place such as shops, I figure a box in view of people/customers is less likely to be tampered with.
As for weekends with a public holiday attached, I prefer to avoid posting if it's a bit of a ghost town where
the street box is situated!

Actually all street boxes have their final clearance after 6.00pm. Some busier boxes may have an extra clearance during the day.
The only places that have final clearance before 6 pm are the actual post offices as the staff like to go home at closing time.
The nearest one to where I live now is cleared about 3.30.
Sometimes they get a second run about 4.45
The next nearest one to me is cleared about 4.15.
my nearest red post box is cleared about 6.25
Sunday to friday except for public holidays. So the next collection from there will be on MONDAY about 6.25 pm.
The times are clearly marked on every post box in Australia. They state the earliest final clearance time.
I used to use Holden hill post office and the round started there so I could post there all day up till 6.00pm. Then if I was posting at 6.00pm I could get the parcel included in to the van by the posty who would wait there until exactly 6.00pm to start the run.
It is an agency so I have posted as late as 8.30pm on a Saturday or sunday night. Especially if it is a registered type item.
Anything posted in a post office over the weekend will stay in the post office until first clearance on Monday.
