Hi, we are a seller on ebay and use the click and send satchels and well as the 5kg auspost satchel. However we have seen some of our competitors offer a different service and the price of the postage is determined by your postcode and in some instances it works out quite cheaper, especially for the heavier items. Does anyone know what that service would be and how it links into ebay.
Thanks

If the seller posts a lot then they may have an account with Aust Post and the more you post the more discounts you get.
This is how a lot of big seller have cheaper postage.

If the item is going less than 50km (I think) postage is cheap, otherwise C&S tends to be at least as cheap as any other postage method.
If your items are heavy but not too bulky, you could look at the AP boxes - they all have a limit of 15kg through C&S.
eg a Bx1 (22 x 16 x 7.7) costs $1.75 plus $6.50 postage. For over 500g significantly cheaper than a 3kg satchel. Unfortunately a full size Hardcover won't fit in one. :_|
A Bx4 is under $17 p+p and is 43 x 32 x 14.

Hi Thanks for that.
However there are instances where the postage displayed on ebay varies according to your postcode. For example I live in SA and the price of a particular item to post was $10. The seller is in Sydney, when I looked at their item in the postage tab I changed the postcode to 2000 as there was an option there and postage was $7. I was wondering how this is done.
Thanks

To do this when setting up the listing you choose calculated postage. You then enter the size and weight of the parcel and the AP calculator will work out the postage based on the buyers postcode.

If you use the boxes, you have to use flat postage as the calculator is not set up for them yet.
Satchels you can use either. I use calculated (even though they're a flat rate); that way when eBay updates the calculator all my prices are correct. Beats editing all my listings.
