it seems that when a seller misadvertises about where an items location is a (australia-china etc) and is reported for a wrongfull ad then ebay does nothing to resolve the problem.
i purchased an item and paid twice the going rate (same item half price in china) because i was in a hurry to get the item because the seller advertised the item as being in australia, the item never arrive in the specified time and then when it finaly arrived i find it was actually sent from china.
so far ebay has done nothing to sort this problem out and now just are not even interested in doing anything to protect the buyers from ebay from having the same thing done to them.
without buyers ebay and the sellers would not excist

No way was I saying it was right I was just pointing out that it may have taken just as long from a domestic seller, I have received items from China and HK in less than a week and I have had domestic parcels take the best part of three weeks.
The postage time quoted of 2-7 days is an arbitrary number set by ebay, it does not mean AP are going to deliver that quickly.

No, it is a figure listed by the seller and forms part of their spiel -
This item is in AU stroe (sic) we will use Mail Send it to you.
It will take 2-7 Working days.
I agree with an above poster, that with 4.9 for postage time it's unlikely that this seller makes a habit out of it but nevertheless, the buyer has been dudded in this case and the seller has deservedly been negged.
As for the pillorying claims, you guys really need to get out more if you think anything in this thread constitutes pillorying.

But you didn't address the issue did you, PJ? OP was prepared to pay the higher price, assuming that because the item was listed in Australia he would get it sooner. It took longer than expected because it actually came from China. Had OP known it was going to come from China, he could've baought for half the price from China in the first place.
The issue is that eBay do nothing to sort this problem of misleading the buyer as to item location.
I see your'e still very quick to address an irrelevant point in order to score points, PJ.
Now I remember why I solve my own problems rather than come in here to be sneered at.
