Best way to ship a large item

HI all,

I am a new seller on ebay and kindly need all ebay expertise advices.

I am still trying to figure out how to ship a large soft dog bed. Checking with AUS Post, they advice to vacumn the bed and roll it to a cylinder look then it is cheaper to ship domestically.

But the price is still from $15 onwards and it may impact on the bed quality after using the vacumn seal bag.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Ivan

Fastway are very competitive - but the basic fact is postage in Australia is expensive - domestic is bad enough but try shipping anything over 500g internationally - ridiculous....

Best way to ship a large item

Hi,I also sold a dog bed weight 6kgs was pick up only but buyer never looked at this,so I looked at cheapest way of sending found a site www.parcel2courier.com you put info in and they work out cheapest and Eparcl came up cheapest.I never realised you could send items by Eparcel but you just select and print label ,affix it to parcel and lodge at PO. it cost just $16.02 going on size and weight this was $12 cheaper than courier and $30 cheaper if sent as normal post.Just thought this might be helpful to other sellers who were unaware they could do this.

I had a large parcel that was around 7.5kg that I had to send to Queensland. Australia Post quoted $95. Fastway couriers cost $55. Sometimes couriers can work out a lot cheaper and quicker!
