There is a thread on buying about this that I saw too late, so putting this in selling as that is where I usually only look and presume a lot of sellers only do too. After a getting a voucher from ebay thought I would buy some 3k express post satchels for this tme of year. Arrived quickly BUT they do not have he little sender keeps tabs. Checked community pages and found they are fraud, Told ebay and got it confirmed also with Austpost who are all looking into it. Afterall counterfeit is not something urgent?? They may/may not get picked up in the post. Auspost may charge you postage and extra if these satchels are used as postage has not been paid on them, which Auspost has confirmed to me. All those sellers who bought are best to claim them back from the seller. May be more than 1 seller, mine were 163424396248

I sent the seller a question, asking if the satchels where genuine as they did not appear to have the correct peel off sticker. Below is a cut & paste of his response.

Australia post are confirming they are counterfeit to me. Use at your own risk as they are looking out for them. Seller never reponded to my refund claim, now ebay waiting 5 days to hear from auspost who may/maynot refund. Auspost have lost $3000 since I last contacted them but they are too busy to act on fraud....

Why would Australia Post issue a refund.....they did not sell you the satchels and did not receive any money for them.
They are still losing money when the deliver the satchels without detecting that they are fakes.
Talk about blaming the victim.

I meant ebay may/maynot refund not auspost, but only IF they hear from auspost. I have spoken to auspost today yet again and they are still looking into it 4 days later and they have lost another $3000 potential in postage. 1 phone call to ebay is all austpost needs to do, or send out 100s of letters to people who unknowingly use satchels with no postage. Bit of a no brainer. I did not think it would b so hard to report a fraud counterfeit case

You're assuming eBay will forgo sales fees on your sayso.
All you can really do is get documented proof from AP to get your money back.
You could report the seller you bought from to ACORN.
Then it is up to AP and the cops to take any further/possible action. If the seller is not registered in Australia, it would have to go through Interpol. Who might not think it big beer enough to devote resources to.
Your other option is to buy AP satchels from AP, and adjust your postage prices accordingly.

The seller is in Australia. Yes I can buy from AP but then I could buy everything from the shops too, and never from ebay in case it is a con. Ebay should be safe for all, and should look into reports of items themselves. After all they have their own proof in the photos on ebay

Another lot of 300copies just been put on ebay. Wish buyers would realise they are taking a huge chance with no postage actually been paid on these 3k express satchels without the peel off sender to keep tabs. Ebay and auspost just too slow/busy to act on it.
