Bidder has requested a retraction

Hi there,

I have a Pokemon card up for sale, on behalf of my son. The title clearly states that the card is a 21/82. This detail can also be seen in a couple of the photos and it is in the description.

The most recent bidder has messaged me, asking me to retract their bid, as she thought the card was a 4/82.

There are still a good few days to go on the auction; this lady is not the only bidder (she is just the current one) and I have seven watchers. She may possibly be outbid (depending on what her highest bid is, of course).

The mistake is very much hers.

Do I retract her bid or, if she wins, file an unpaid item strike?

What would you do?

Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

Tell her to retract her own bid if there are several days to go.

There is no point in you refusing to cancel under these circumstances.

She could well win the card and pay for it then open a dispute to get her money back....and damage the card to prove it is not as described.

Thank you, Lyndal.

Can she retract her own without the reason being my fault, though? I thought a bidder could only retract a bid if the seller has done something wrong or if the bidder has bid too high and they want to enter a smaller amount.

They can retract a bid using the amount option - but not rebid.    Sad but effective.
