Biddiers Not following through with payments

Hi,

Is anyone else experiencing people bidding on items then not following through with the payment.

This has happened to me twice now for the same item & after making contact with the buyer for payment just prior to the 4 day cutoff period & no communication from the buyer. This is really frustrating having to wait 4 days for funds only to have to relist the same item.  Ebay if a customer is allowed to bid on an item 2 days would be sufficient for purchase to allow us sellers to cancel & relist the item not 4days this is ridiculous.

Any imformation from the communtion as to if anyone else is experiencing this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not a seller so I can't tell you for sure but I don't think it is all that common overall, but of course it does happen.

Some sellers have Buy it now settings that require immediate payment and that avoids this scenario.

I suspect non payment probably happens more on these higher priced second hand items as some buyers may get cold feet. I noticed the phone sold in ebay auctions and quite possibly afterwards (especially after the first auction) the buyer may have felt he got carried away.

I noticed it first sold for $560 and then later at $425.

If I were you though, I would not relist for a month, till that sale history drops off.

If buyers see the same phone up for sale several times, they may worry that there must be something wrong with it. At the very least, it could make buyers feel $425 was the top mark.

Springy, a seller's sold items are visible to anyone for 3 months.
