Hi,
Seeking advice - I have a buyer who is saying they have not received their item some 60+ days after it was posted. They are continuing to message me through ebay regarding their item but didnt even raise the issue until well outside the 45 days to make a claim or raise an issue through the normal methods.
I have a copy of their receipt posted on 11th Dec (they paid standard international airmail, non trackable), a picture of the item all wrapped up at the post office the day it was sent and all other items on that receipt have been received all around the world but theirs allegedly.
What do I do?

I would do what Jen suggested and lodge a claim through Australia Post and let your buyer know you are doing this. It may appease them (or not). But it would show that you are attempting to follow through on a missing parcel. Also let them know that they (AP) won't do anything until three months from lodgement. As you have the photos taken at the PO that can be forwarded to AP with your claim. If you don't want to deal with the issue any more just block them.

I can understand why person in Russia would wait so long; it takes long time for mail to get there. They probably check absolutely everything in customs, and stuff may sit there for weeks. Not to mention some very severe winter weather, which would ground planes, and make road impassible.
The only way I would post to countries like Russia is by PP approved method, which most likely is the international express that gives on line tracking and signature on delivery.

I just checked the tracking information for the Parcel I sent to Russia on the 24th December which seemed to have disappeared into thin air.
It finally showed on the tracking site on the 24th February although at this stage it still hasn't been delivered. I can only assume it has been sitting in customs the whole time.

Russia is NOT a safe destination to post mail to... the system is extremely corrupt. Likewise for Italy, Greece and most of Africa, unfortunately.

Also Aus to Russia or anywhere to Russia is extremely slow. They are well known for this. For this reason it could be why your buying is contacting you out of the ebay timeline. While it does not show that the buyer already has the goods the fact he did not claim and still has not to my mind makes me think he is genuine.
Depending on the price you paid for the item possibly refund.Karma.

Like super_nova said, Express Post International seems like the a great and safe way to post internationally. The cost is quite high but it gives you tracking AND should be delivered pretty quickly, so any disputes could be addressed and resolved with the PP.
I've bought items from Japan that were shipped by EMS and they've arrived within about 5 days, which was really very impressive and worth the extra money.

hi, i there, i had the same issue last year, i paid for my things but didn't get them. only raised my concerns after a months, cos i thought the seller was away for the Xmas holidays, and or Australia post was closed for the holidays as well. sent a message to the seller ,but she replied after couple of days, by then i had already open a case against the seller. so, wht i'm saying is maybe the buyer never got the items, but she was allowing some time to get delivered.

I sever few parcels to oversea. There is no problem for me. It is best to give your customer registered international service. So you can track your parcel . Otherwise if it lost, there is no idea to know where it is.
You can not refund money back to your customer Because of more than two months now. But you can send the same money back to your customer by palpal.
