No feedback

Hello to you expert ebayers! Just after some advice.. I am new to ebay and it has been a slow start so far.. I have sold some products, however have not received feedback from the buyers.. I am expecting the feedback, to help me boost my rating, however I am confused when people do not leave feedback how can my rating change! I sent a personal message to one buyer to follow up his order and see if he was satisfied with the product ( hint hint please leave feedback ) and still no reply.

Do you have buyers who do not leave feedback? If so do you follow it up?

Thanks in advance!

I think it is great when they leave feedback, and I wish more of them did it.

Having said that, I would rather be whipped in public than ask anyone for FB.

I have sold 29 items and received 16 FB so far, and of course I would like a bit more, but asking has backfired in the past for other sellers and I have chosen to learn from their misfortunes!

It's great when you get it, but you shouldn't count on it- or ask for it, IMO.

YES plenty of buyers don't leave feedback.

NO don't ever hassle a buyer for f/b. It is completely voluntary so neither one of you has to leave it.

If you want to increase your f/b score then I would suggest you buy a few inexpensive items.

Don't stress over f/b - if you're selling a good product and offer the best service that you can, your f/b score will eventually reflect this. We all had to start from zero - you just have to be patient and slowly build a reputation as a reliable and honest seller - it doesn't happen overnight ๐Ÿ™‚

Excellent advice! Thankyou for the encouragement and it is a nice reminder that you all had to start at zero too! I will be patient, I just thought that all buyers are expected to leave FB.. Well done to  both of you for having more then "10" in your feedback lol...

What I am finding a little stressful is I have sent some products in normal postage, not with tracking numbers. So my concern is, when they don't leave FB, did they actually receive the parcel, or are they going to give me  negative FB ? It is such a fine line ... Do you all provide postage with a tracking number?

Well I am one of the good ones that has left you feedback on the two occasions that I have bought from you however if you see my feedback rating is 6552 and I have sold over 14,000 items on eBay.  I would say that about half dont ever bother to leave feedback, and they never email to say that the item is received.  However I look at it this way - if they dont leave feedback or say thanks then they must have received the item or they would be asking where is it.

I checked my feedback this afternoon for those who had not left it in December and when I looked to see what feedback they had left for others a lot never leave anybody any feedback.

By the way the fishing lures we bought from you are being used by the grandson today.

You'll get there.  Don't get hung up on feedback, and remember . . . . for a seller, 'no feedback' from a buyer is better than a negative.

Your first hurdle will be to get 10 feedbacks from buyers to get your DSR ratings (but multiple purchases from any eBayer in a Mon-Sun period only count as 1).  The DSR ratings will help you greatly.

If I were you I would stop leaving follow-up feedback for your buyers.  A lot of eBayers use the 'follow-up to feedback received' for counter an adverse, confusing or ambiguous feedback comment they have received.  Potential buyers that want to look at your feedback will find it easier to assess your feedback if the feedbacks are single line without a follow-up.

Good luck with eBay selling.

on tip that may help is a short Thank You note in with your items,

mine is just a copy,

thanking for their order, saying i hope it meets with their expectations, any problems just contact me, I'm sure we can work it out.

I have left feedback for you,  please take a moment to leave it for me, keep checking my Store for more interesting items.

then I add my eBay ID, email address and PO Box number

this works as a packing slip, as well as thank you, and gentle prompt for fb

these days I average about 75% f/b received.

As others have said - NEVER ask for feedback as you may get some that you could well have done without.  Just because a buyer hasn't left feedback is not an indication that they don't have their item.  I believe the average time for buyers to leave feedback is two weeks, however some never leave it for anyone.

I always give feedback, but dont like being pressured

But before giving a neg, a buyer should try and resolve the issue with the seller first, otherwise it greatly affects the seller if you just neg them and all they do is whinge whinge whinge
