I stupidly sent off the item before the buyer had payed.
Now I've had to start an unpayed item case. If the buyer still refuses to pay, how's it going to pan out? Will I lose the item and my money ($455.00)?

This may sound like a silly question but as well as tracking did the item require a signature on delivery ?
Just tracking won't prove that the buyer actually received the item.

At this stage we can only hope that the buyer does the right thing.
Has he/she actually refused to pay at this point ?

Why not get their phone number and call?

If you don't have the buyer's contact number, you can request their details via an advanced search (small grey link at the top of the page, next to the search bar).
Click "Find contact information" under members - they will also receive an email alerting them that their details have been requested, along with your contact details.

well, I'm not sure that it is a scam considering you posted the item before payment.
but yeah, pretty mean nasty dishonest people, I'm sorry that this has happened to you.
I have a feeling though that this will be a tough fight to regain your money, It may take court. I'm not sure how the fraud squad could be of use as you willingly sent the item.

Yep, stupidly I expected the buyer to behave in an honourable manner. You know, fundamental commerce; the exchange of goods for money...I thought that I'd try to do the right thing and get it to him as soon as possible, thinking that the item and the money would pass like ships...Live and learn huh?
I went back through the forum for some older threads because I know this issue has cropped up before. Individual circumstances are always different, and in your case at the moment, you can't be 100% certain that they have received the item, so I'm linking to this post in the hope that it will provide a general guide to options (the poster was a lawyer).
