Buyer in France claims package was tampered with and contents stolen.

Hello.

A buyer has requested a refund. They say the package was empty and that it was because someone had stolen the contents and re sealed the box.
The contents were r/c toy parts. About $200 in value.
The item was tracked and weighed obviously at the P.O.

EBay informed me that they will side with the buyer.
Also that they will refund the fees as a sign of "GOODWILL".

Can anybody offer any help. I am tired of being scammed on ebay.

You say you are sick of being scammed but you leave positive feedback for people who don't pay, encouraging scammers !

Not only breaking eBay rules, but rewarding non-payers with a green tick (if the buyer reports the comment, eBay will remove the comment itself but leave the green tick) but also encouraging the non paying to do it again to others

I'm not sure why you say that I left green ticks for non payers. I cannot leave negative. I do leave a message in their comments. Rather than attacking you could offer advice.

So an honest comment is attacking you?

Sorry but most people here give honest answers

It IS against eBay rules to leave a false positive, if the buyer reports it, eBay will ping your account, nothing will happen to the fake buyer because of it, eBay will punish you (or would you rather I not mention it and you find yourself restricted from selling because of it?)

You DID leave green ticks, they are right there. Most people do not read the 'comment' when a green tick is given. Green is positive

You had the option to leave no feedback at all, far better

I DID offer advice, you say you are sick of scammers but you reward them with green

Did you open and follow up non-payment disputes so the fake 'buyers' get a strike?

(that way people with blocks in place to stop repeat non-payers will be protected against such 'buyers' and you will get your selling fees back?

Did you add them to your blocked bidders list so they can't keep doing it to you ?

Exactly...you are unable to leave negative...since about May 2008.

So why leave a non payer positive feedback?

Advice on your buyer in France...you are possibly being scammed...never list anything you can't afford to lose.

It can be honest and an attack, yes.

Why do you conflate a non payer with a scam or somebody that is most likely trying to steal?

These are not close. Especially morally.

I only use the phone app as I don't have a P.C.

These features you talk of I have not seen.

I was not aware that you can block bidders.

My intention was to warn people of rude non payers. Some are genuine.

EBay informed me I am not charged a fee when a buyer asks to cancel a purchase.

You seemed very focused on this advice about non payers.

Do you have any advice relev want to my question.

Thanks

I answered already why I left "positive" feedback.

It was a negative comment to warn others. Please read the post.

Your advice for the situation in France is of no use.

Whether or not a seller can afford to lose the item is irrelevant. .

Not having much luck in this forum.

Oh well.

By re-sealed, I assume the buyer means re-sealed with tape?

If so,

have you aksed them if it was 'normal' tape (rather than customs tape or the postal service's tape?)

Are you able to contact eBay again via Live Chat and point out the receipt information showing the tracking details, including the weight of the parcel when you sent it?
