Buyer leaves strangely positive negative feedback

A buyer has left me negative feedback for an item the purchased off me , but I'm very unsure why they have left it at all. They left me a request for the item they ordered but ebay had cut part of their request off in the messages but and I made an error. When the buyer bought the error to my attention I apologised and explained what had happened and immediately sent them a full replacement plus an extra gift and they said they were very happy with that and thanked me for fixing the problem quickly. They said they didn't need the item till August so it wasn't a problem. The item mustn't have taken long to arrive as I posted it Wednesday and they have left negative feedback today.
I'm not sure what else I could've done under the circumstances ?

I think what they have done is forget the Click onto the Postive Button in The Leave Feedback Options.  Possibly you could contact them and find out if  they were aware they left Negative Feedback and they may be able to follow through with a Positive. Alas, I think the Negative will still stay there though ? I may be wrong ?

Ask them whether it was a mistake.

if it was, you can send them a request to change the negative to a positive dot, but you can ask once I believe, so make sure you talk to them first. So they know what you are asking them to do.

it is called revising feedback.

http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/feedback/revision-request.html

has the link to the feedback revision request form. And you can only ask once per transaction. The feedback has to be less than 30 days old, too.

If you contact eBay regarding the negative feedback you received, they will almost certainly remove it under their own policies.

I sent her a message asking if the feedback was a mistake but I haven't heard back yet from her. How do you contact ebay , is it by email , phone or some other way ? I've never had to contact them before . Thanks heaps

Re: Buyer leaves strangely positive negative feedback

Contact eBay by phone. You'll get the number by going through Customer Support, right at the top of this, or any other page.

The person has followed the negative up with a "whoops pressed the wrong button"

Well that's a start but it still doesn't restore the seller's 100% feedback so he'll still need to get eBay to remove it.

I'm still not sure how someone can accidentally leave a negative. You get those warnings pop up asking you if that's what you want to do and to contact the seller (in a round about way). I've never left feedback on the phone app, is it possible it could be easier to accidentally leave it on that?

A general question, if someone does accidentally leave a neg, can they just go back and revise it themselves, or do they need to wait until the seller sends a request?

Re: Buyer leaves strangely positive negative feedback

chooks they need the seller to send them a feedback revision

In this case OP I would ring eBay and request removal given it has been confirmed by the buyer it was their error.
