Buyer refuses to pay for an item

A buyer says her 6 year old daughter bid on the item and now she refuses to pay

What recourse do l have?

4 days after the time and date of the sale you can open a non paying bidder dispute and then 4 days later close the dispute and they get a strike, you get your fees back and you can then relist or do a second chance offer if it was at auction with another bidder.

Feedback can not be left once the dispute is closed by either of you.

Oldest excuse in the book. Even IF it were true (highly doubtful) their account, their resposnibility

Also add them to your blocked buyers list so they can't pull the same stunt again

Yep that's a common one. The guilty child usually has some form of a disability as well.

She doesn't have to pay, you can't force her.

But you don't have to cancel the sale either.

Do exactly as sparklz says and 4 days after the sale, open an unpaid item dispute.

Just message the woman that she does not need to pay, she can ignore any ebay payment requests, you are just going through the formal procedure to get your ebay fees back.

That way, she will get a strike (not that you need to mention that to her).

That is your best recourse.

If she manages to get a second strike from anyone, her buying ability will be more limited.
