Buyer remorse, opens Item Not Received Case

I have a situation I'm not familiar with and Im struggling to find information on.

An international buyer purchased something from me, I posted it and he has opened an Item Not Received case, but has said that he thought it was something else and wants to return it.

So he has received it, decided he does not want it and opened the wrong case.

Normally I wouldn't worry because I have a tracking number and can use that as proof. But this person lives in a very remote island, paid a lot for the shipping and the tracking information says it is still in progress.. Perhaps because it is an island, they have not followed the correct procedures to complete the tracking on their end?

I have contacted ebay, they said to upload the tracking information into the case which i did. But ebay AU cannot handle it because it was  sent to the USA and I have to speak to them during their business hours, which I will do tomorrow.

Has anyone got any experience with this? Buyer remorse opening INR case, combined with tracking information not updating.

Thank goodness for that! I'd miss your wit.....and bleeps LOL! I hope you win the battle because those that have come after, that find themselves in the same boat (sucky members) aren't getting the same punishment you got. I've always said, if you get locked up for murder, you're generally out in 15 years. You eff up on eBay, it's life without parole......no questions asked.

I'm glad you've stuck with it and I'm glad your selling again.....which I'm assuming eBay can't match to you! I  love it when someone outwits eBay. My sister's friend outwitted them, I'm sure she's not the only one (she copped the same punishment as you, around the same time.....due to **bleep**hole buyers).

I'm about to get my money back but not my items which is understandable as I sold the items so the money should have been mine in the first place lol.

It has come to the point where someone has finally listened to the facts and because there were more than 1 dishonest buyer involved at the time ebay has finally woken up to it and admitted their wrong injustice and unfair treatment of me,so fingers x'd it won't be too long.

And I won't be going back to the old account when this is all over as I'm doing just fine right now.

All the best to all the sellers that were shafted in the past and I hope that you all finally get what you truly deserve.
