I had a buyer bid on 2 of my items 4 days ago
i noticed today that the buyer had retracted the bids on BOTH of these items yesterday. They were both opening bids.
so i check bid history and see that the buyers name has asterixes and there is no reason for why these bids were retracted. (asterixes mean i cant add buyer to BBL)
so clicked on the buyers name and it brought up their bidding history and it said that they have had 118 bid retractions in the last 30 days
whats the deal here? i thought you had to have a legitimate reason for retracting a bid (eg bid wrong amount, or seller modified listing etc)
surely this isnt right

sorry i didnt really type that properly
what i said was im not fussed about about opening a UID case, meaning i have no problems opening one...
i have asked the buyer an hour ago for an indication of when they are paying this week. i should give them some time to respond before opening a UID case being fair i think 2 days is enough (considering its been 4 days since the auction ended already)

these forums have been great for me as a new seller thanks to people like yourself and others
due to reading them, i always open UID cases on non payers. So far i have opened 3 (1 is in the works now, and 2 others were paid after opening the case)
so far im yet to close one totally
its the only way we sellers can fight back and help other sellers, and weed out non payers

you know what... you are absolutely right
i am looking way too much into it and letting it get to me for no good reason
i will reply to the message stating i will give her until saturday night to pay for the item, and just UID her if its not paid by sunday and move on. It will either get paid or i will close the case and relist
this is a valuable lesson to me actually... not letting things get to me and just accept it for what it is and move on
thanks for your reply amber 🙂

these sad sack bidders make selling on Ebay very upsetting but in a way i feel sorry for them because they must have very unhappy lives to be getting a kick out of playing such childish games my advise to them is get a life and grow up!!
