Buyer unable to pay for item.

Has anyone else had this problem ?

A week ago, a buyer contacted me as she was unable to pay me for an item purchased.   She was getting the message "seller hasn't given postage details" .

I checked my account and saw the message "you have not provided a postcode"

I had sold several items on that day and all others were able to pay ?? 

I rang eBay ... they said it was not my fault, and it wouldn't happen again ... but I had to send an invoice and request the amount from the buyer.

All fixed ??

No ....

Again, yesterday, the same thing happened - buyer contacted me and was getting message that I hadn't given a payment option.

I advised her that I'd ring eBay this morning and try to get it sorted again. (meantime, all the other buyers from yesterday had been invoiced and paid for their items)

I SPENT 50 MINUTES ON THE PHONE .... ANSWERING QUESTIONS, LIKE .... "did you send an invoice"   "did you do something different?"     "what is the buyer's username"  along with being transferred to the department "who can fix these things"

OUTCOME .....

I have emailed the buyer to send me her email address and I will have to send an invoice.

Very frustrating and time consuming .... when it's eBay's fault

It is a glitch that has been ongoing for some time and it is hit and miss as to whom it affects

It is an ongoing glitch so just a waste of time ringing ebay.

If you send the invoice through ebay that usually sorts out the problem for the buyers.

Tick to send a copy to your email address as well so you will be able to see if it has gone through correctly.

Thank you for that .... and yes, ringing eBay just ends up in a marathon of question after question, and they not understanding !!

Is it best to immediately tell the buyer to text you their email address and go from there ?  That's what I've been doing, but maybe there's an alternatively.

dot - just send the invoice the normal way through ebay. That normally fixes it straight away. If it doesn't resend it. Just make sure you check that all the details on the invoice are correct.
