Just simply state that he dismantled it and that it can't be returned in the same condition that you sent it as he
could've changed/altered it or dropped it,(then simply state that he didn't even test it prior to taking it apart,so
there was no reason to do so).
You sold it as a complete unit and if he choose to take it apart he loses all claims for a refund.
