Looking for some opinions from sellers....
I have a message saying they want to buy one of my books, but because of my 'buyer blocks' they cannot purchase it
They also said their strikes aren't their fault, but they do have over 600 feedback at 100%
Their username is also very familiar and I am sure they may have purchased of me befor but cant find anything
As sellers, would you put them on the xemption list so they can purchase or would you think it is too risky for non-payment? They would have strikes for a reason too

if requested I always check their feedback left for others first, if they appear to be the picky/ angry / abusive type i ignore
if they seem to leave reasonable, level headed f/backs I usually put them on the exemption list and see what happens.

If they wanted to buy they can directly.
If they get strikes they have to wear them.
They just can't buy with E-Bay protection once they have them.
It does not stop them from buying completely.

yes it does Annie------ if the Seller has their blocks in place.
I block all buyers with 2 or more strikes, and I check my blocked Bidder Activity Log each week to see just how many bidders have not been able to bid on my items
usually not many on the knitting and crochet side, but on collectables and clothing, there are usually a few a week!

Was very interesting what you all would do as sellers.
My blocks are set for 2 strikes in the past month, and members under 5 in their feedback need to be phone verified
I have decided not to unblock them, I like my 100% feedback ๐ and won't risk it.

My blocks are set for 2 strikes in the past month,
Mine is set to 2 strikes in 12 months, much harsher! 2 strikes per month is only catching the really hardcore Non-Payers!
I let block bidders communicate with me, but I reckon I've only had a couple ask me if they could be excused. I let one purchase, and they paid me, so they may have learnt their lesson.

Like Putney I look at their recent buying history and compare it to the number of feedback they have received. I also look at the tone of the feedback they have left.
If they have received feedback for most of their recent purchases and they leave factual feedback then I will usually allow them to bid but make it very clear that there is no leeway and if I don't receive payment within 4 days a dispute will be opened.
Out of the ones I have allowed only one has not paid and received yet another strike!

No way. I dont block buyers much at all, but over years of ebaying, ive got a fairly big list. I just added 4 to my list today from over the past moths transactions.

If I've blocked a buyer manually I wouldn't unblock them, but my NPB block is set up for 3 or more strikes in the last 6 months and one will contact me every so often and ask to be allowed to purchase. So far, all the messages have been polite and without excuses or blaming someone else for having strikes, so I've always let them purchase and they have all been problem free transactions.
I know some sellers have had rude, abusive and insulting messages after a buyer has been blocked and I wouldn't be rushing to let someone like that purchase, and it won't always work out, but I generally figure if they have gone out of their way to contact me and are courteous, it's a half-decent sign they're keen on the item and just want to buy it. Taking a look at recent feedback left and received, as advised, can definitely help make the decision one way or another.
