Buying history

Is there anywhere now where we can check a (potential) buyer's buying history? Thanks in advance.

Only through their feedback and feedback left for others....that can be very revealing.

That's my problem, Lyndal. She has none of either, but has been a member for a number of years. I'm just a little suspicious. What a shame they closed that other site!

It probably wouldn't help even if you could see what else she's bought.  The other site only showed the last few weeks and if she has no feedback after several years it could well be that if she buys and doesn't pay she only does it occasionally.  Most of my non-payers (not all) are people with very low feedback who've been members for several years and I have no idea how many times they do the same thing to others, but I have my blocks in place so they can't be doing it too often or they wouldn't be able to buy from me.  If she does pay for some items she'd have some feedback to show for it because most sellers leave feedback straight away (in my experience).

I don't have as much trouble with newbies as I do with older members.  Some newbies can sound a little suspicious but it's often because they don't know how ebay works.

I'm the same. I have far more trouble with experienced buyers than newbies. Most newbies want to make a good impression so pay really fast. A couple have contacted me post sale apologising for not paying but they were having trouble working out the payment system. No problems. A few messages back and forth soon sees them right. Always happy to help newbies if they ask.

The age of the account means nothing. I used a 3yo unused account last weekend to take advantage of the $20 off deal. That account got the invitation, as did my newest selling account and there were 2 things I wanted to buy. So, the cobwebs got dusted off the unused account. Now I'm just waiting to get the list 10 items for free promo (although I may have already got that when I created it way back when).
