Can I include bulk prices in my listing?

I have large volumes of an item for sale.

I wish to add a bul price list with a comment to contact me so I can relist the item with the volume of items required by customer.

Am I allowed to put a bulk price list in my listing and specify that a certain amount has been added to the cost to cover selling fees?

ie Can I specify a total price and include and specify in the list the net price of item, plus GST amount + amount added for ebay fees?

I would just list bulk quantities - you have a store and only 30 current listings, so it won't cost you any extra to have more listings (if you are subscribed to a basic store, you get 80 free listings as part of the deal - fixed price in any category or auctions in collectible categories - so you would only pay FVF if it sells and that can be factored into your pricing).

The two main reasons I suggest that is to make it nice and easy for any prospective buyers, as some won't bother and just look elsewhere, and because eBay often view "contact me for custom quantities" etc lines in listings as an ivitation to sell off eBay, whether that's what you intended or not, and issue policy violations automatically. If you do want to list with an invitation to contact for custom quantities, you need to make it so there is no doubt whatsoever that the listing will be on eBay, and don't mention fees - prices on eBay are GST inclusive and most people will want a final, fixed price quote (plus, it's against policy to pass on fees as an additional cost, so breaking it down like that could be construed as doing so), but you can issue a tax invoice with sales.

You are allowed to have multiple listings of the same item if the quantities per listing fulfil different needs, so the quantities need to have a fairly significant difference, eg 1, 20, 50.

Tnx for the response and advice digital*ghost.

I had a listing ended prematurely by eBay. The explanantion given was fair but as well as ending the listing they removed the whole thing! Even though it showed up in my Unsold Items folder, when I tried to edit it to remove the offending paragraph I discovered they had totally removed everything! It took me ages to construct it and I had no backup so I was not impressed at all!

Mind you I have learnt to backup backup backup!! lol

Just wanted to clarify a few things before I posted this time.

It's a bit hard to list multiple listings for a couple of reasons. Primarily I'm limited from creating too many listings of different qtys by my eBay selling limits. Also I can supply qtys from 1-100+ and everyone's needs are different.

Consider this scenario:

I have 100 items to sell. A single item sells for $11 each. I can create a single listing for this no problems.

However If a customer buys between 11 and 20 items, the item price changes to $10 each. 21-40 items are $9 each etc

How can I create a listing that sells, for example, 20 items at $10 each (a total of $200), but if they want to buy more they can buy extra items at $9 each? Is that possible? If less than 10 items are bought the price would be $11 each so a separate listing for single items only would not be helpful.

Aside from including a Bulk Price list in my listing and making it clear that I will create an ebay listing to suit a customer's requirements, I can't work out how I can do it!

What about a listing where you have 50 available and also add Best Offer.

Then write in your description that you can offer discounts for purchases of bulk quantities?

Someone with more experiuence will come along with the right terms etc (and if this is permissible)

so fior example, list an item as $50 BIn or best offer with quantity 50.

then in your description say, the BIN is for the purchase of 1 item, however, depending on quantity purchased, a lowewr "best offer" can be negotiated.

maybe even detail the prices you will accept for best offer (as mentioned in the post above) in the description.

Unfortunately, no, there's no way to make single quantities available for purchase at reduced rates once another quantity level has been reached.

You can try the single quantity listing with best offer as crikey has suggested, but you need to be aware that just using the word "offer" in a listing description (even one that has Best Offer enabled), can get you a policy violation for attempting to sell off-eBay (it's madness, IMO, but eBay shoots first and asks no questions later).

So unfortunately, no matter which way you go, you will be limited in terms of how you can list, and how you need to word invitations for bulk quantity enquiries.

I would probably keep it as simple as possible - single item quantity, then maybe - if / when your limits allow - an extra listing or two for the most popular bulk quantities requested, then say in the descriptions something along the lines of "Need different quantities? Happy to create a custom eBay listing to meet your needs - please message for a quote on the quantity required". Or similar.

Can I include bulk prices in my listing?

Thanks for the advice everyone. Best Offer sounds like a definite option.

One more question though:

Can I add a discount after a sale? I've noticed in the sales order details there's an option for "Seller discounts (-) or charges (+):". If I can just apply a discount amount after purchase and before payment, this seems to me to be an easy way to offer discounts on bulk purchases. Are there any limitations on this?

You can give the 'seller discounts' after sale via a refund in Paypal but from my experience you still pay fees on the original amount. eBay seems to assume it is a postal discount and won't let it be more than the postage amount. I have never tried before payment but I still think that eBay would base fvf on the amount that they helped you sell the item for.
