Can now enter one tracking number for multiple purchases (?)

I remember that, previously, you weren't able to enter the same tracking number if the buyer paid for multiple items separately, but now I find that I can.

Does this reflect a change in policy, in that you are now eligible for protection if you pack multiple-but-paid-for-separately items to the same buyer in one box/satchel? Anyone know?

I would hope so, because if eBay is still encouraging sellers to send multiple items to the same buyer in separate packages in 2019 then they are seriously out of touch, given the climate situation and the extra packing material, etc, required to pack separately.

I've been able to do it for quite a few years, so it's not new to me.

I doubt eBay would have any concerns for the environment that impacted their bottom line. Given they don't refund the fees on overpaid postage unless asked (and maybe not even then), it is unlikely to be a factor.

like dave, i've been able to do it for years without an issue. don't believe it changes their policy because the sending packages separately if ordered in separate transactions comes under paypal's buyer / seller protection policy if i'm not mistaken.

I've been able to do so for years also but .....and the reason for posting here.... today I now need to insert the tracking number for every single item purchased irrespective of the fact it's one order which was checked out and paid for in one go by the one customer.

Inserting 63 tracking numbers and carrier names for every single item of the same order is not very efficient in my view.

If I sold 63 items in one go I would be prepared to put up with any inconvenience,
