Hello, I recently opened a Cancel Transaction case so that I could re-list and the buyer could pay the correct amount in the new listing. Well, they ended up just paying the initial amount and I refunded the rest without the need for a new listing.
The case is still open but since the sale did go through, there's no need to cancel the transaction. I'm worried that the case will automatically close and my FVF will be refunded, because eBay deserves my FVF since the item sold. Should I just let the case expire or let eBay know somehow that there's no need to get my FVF back? I just don't see the option to "cancel the case because the buyer paid." Thanks for any help.

Hi Soul
Have you tried remarking as paid ?? i think that closes it. ?:|

What cats said.
But you should be able to close it and pay the fvf still.

Cats and sparklz, thanks for your reply. I just marked it as paid about 10 mins ago but the case is still open. It says "Buyer didn't respond." I'm hesitant to close the case because I can't see the option to say that they paid.

If you ignore it it will just close in your favor anyway.
If you click on close it may go to another option to pick from before the final click.

If you ignore it, eBay closes it after 60 days and you don't get the FVF credited back - it's only if you close the case manually that the fees will be credited.
There are two options to choose when closing manually:
The buyer and I have completed this transaction successfully.
or
I want to end communication with the buyer.
I would think the first option means the FVF isn't credited back, but the help page (link) seems to infer that it is. I've never had to close a case manually so I don't know for sure.

are you talking about a mutual cancellation request?
If yes and the buyer does not agree or decline then it will close automatically after some time and you get your FVF refunded.
Yes, but according to eBay, if the buyer does not respond and the seller doesn't close manually, eBay close it after 60 days (from the date of the transaction) and don't refund the FVF.
On the 61st day after the end of the transaction, if you haven't closed your case, eBay automatically closes it and you are not credited the final value fee.

Thanks sparklz and d*g. Below the option that digital*ghost said of "The buyer and I have completed this transaction successfully" was a note that "You will not receive a Final Value Fee credit" so I just clicked on that and also added a note that the buyer had paid through PayPal for the successful transaction. Thanks again. 🙂

In the case that I had, you had to click on Continue to go to the page where it gave the two options that d*g said. The page before that didn't seem to say that you could click on "We've completed it successfully" so that was where I was confused. Glad eBay has those options though!
