Changes to Boards

Early next month eBay will be updating the Community forums in Australia. With these updates you'll enjoy a better experience, an updated look and feel and great new features, including:

A new "ask a question" feature The ability for you to give kudos to other users' posts When you ask a question, you'll be able to see when an answer is posted, and then "Accept the Solution" if you think the answer is a good one. Every time you accept a solution, you help other members who may have the same question find their answer even faster!

In order to make these enhancements, we will be placing the forums in "read-only" mode for a few days, starting Thursday, June 27th. After the updates are completed, you can continue to ask questions and talk with each other as you always do - your user name, previous posts and post counts will all stay the same. And there's nothing you need to do to take advantage of these new features - you'll have the same familiar navigation on the left of your screen and the same structure for Discussion Boards, Answer Centre, and Groups.

You can find more information about the changes here.

Hope its better with new mods too 😄

My first week on the Discussion Boards and I've got emails from ebay Moderating team for messages like:

*sigh*:^O  - this is a breach !!!!! Surely they've got better things to do.

I'm guessing some fellow posters must get these emails by the dozens each day.

Anyway, I'm wondering if these ridiculous "breaches"will be subject to any changes on these Boards.

Re: Changes to Boards

Anyone who received many warnings is sent on a " holiday " by ebay. The problem is you can be reported and punished for doing nothing wrong.

Don't take it personally Shahmink. The button pushers have nothing better to do.

If only eBay would pay for Bali, eh DV? 😉

Don't blame me. I didn't vote him in ...

I'm not interested in visiting Bali - I don't want to be blown up. On the other hand some people may want ebay to be blown up....

Re: Changes to Boards

Well it's late on the 28th in au which means that it is somewhere around 4.19am on the 28th in Salt Lake City Utah which is where the ebay buyer protection staff are actually located-waiting waiting.

Maybe we could play some songs-this one is specially for Janis who tried to educate me 21 times within 17 days :-x

Re: Changes to Boards

Sometimes is so random.

I have posted some very mean things :8}  that don't get taken down - and I feel certain they would be reported

Other lame things that I say from time to time are jumped on straight away

Beats the hell out of me ....

Be glad to see the back of the current mods - if it goes from bad to worse, so be it.

I'm certainly not going to take it personally. It just doesn't encourage new posters to stick around and get involved in these conversations. I've learnt a lot this past week reading on these boards though.

Me too. I can't work it out. Sometimes I post something, knowing it's going to be reported but truly believe the slap is worth it and then it isn't.

Other stuff that isn't even close to borderline IMO is reported.

Go figure.

Re: Changes to Boards

I recommend to type DEAD THREAD in as many threads as you can including new threads. That's how I attract some unwanted attention ( when I type it in a dead thread that is. )
