Hi

Has anyone else noticed that with the new change yesterday to the search page that we have lost 'Matching Ebay Shops' box. This was on the left of the page under the Conditions/Directions etc box. When I contacted Ebay regarding this they told me it was a function that was not on AU. I pointed out to both the gentlemen that I use this function every day if not more. Result being they will look into it and get back to me. As a shop owner this was a useful tool for buyers to see the top 5 or 6 shops but also to find other shop owners. Now there is no presence of shops easily accessible on the search page.

Any comments would be appreciated regarding this matter. I spent all day trying to solve this as I thought it might of been something to do with my computer.

I desperately hope ebay bring this feature back that was one of the advantages to having a shop with alot of inventory in it appearing there.

As a buyer I always go to that box to see the big stores too.

Sad day

Ebay always do what thay want without giving the seller or buyer a say. Stuff the seller or buyer..

It's more "stuff the sellers" rather than the buyers:|

There is one thing that I think everybody would agree on; get rid of the default setting for "best match".  What best match? when I click on the seller's "other items"?  The best match is almost never anything vaguely resembling what I was looking for anyway.  Why cannot we set our own default?  The best match would be just about last thing i would choose.

The options to customise the search have been reduced rather drastically, and I guess they're still working on a few things because there is absolutely no difference between selecting small gallery images and large gallery images. There's no option to have the default search order Price + Postage lowest/highest first, either, just lowest/highest price.

Re: The eBay shops box, when searching I occasionally noticed it but never clicked on any of the links. Mostly because I had already set up my default search results to show almost all of the information available, including the seller's ID, so I could always see at a glance if one seller in particular had several items I was interested in. Now the seller's ID and store name seems to be displayed by default, with the store name a clickable link, so I don't think the absence of the box will affect sales.

Customise View used to be an excellent tool but no more. Some features are still available but most are not despite being in the select box.

Thumbnail images cannot be made smaller to speed up searching.

Sellers will not have their stock easily viewed any more.

Cannot see how ebay benefits from this,  a bit like shooting themselves in the foot?

Best Match is not my choice either....but no matter what box I tick in Customize Best Match remains the default. Grrrrr.
