Hi everyone,
I am wondering if Click&Send with over counter lodgement receipt and without SOD qualifies for seller protection. I am going to sell low valued items, like $20-30. Adding $2.95 extra for SOD would be too much and would reduce sales.
Thanks for any answers

It's my understanding you only need proof of postage, not proof of delivery. I refuse to pay $2.95 for a signature and am currently using the red "Do Not Safe Drop" stickers on my C&S packages (ask at your post office and they should willingly give you some - mine does). I also keep a copy of the C&S label in case of a dispute. Fortunately I haven't had any disputes as yet:-)

Thank you wot.
I would refund customers regardless. I've sent away about 100 items by now, using regular satchels, and have not received one INR dispute. Generally I believe people are good and honest. Just in case the tracking says the item is delivered, and the customer says not delivered, and you know the person has made many INR claims before.
I always have SOD for high valued items to ensure they come to the intended place.

Thanks Motherbear,
I check the post office for those stickers.
I heard that click&send lodgement receipt doesn't show the destination's postcode and therefore does not qualify for buyer protection. Is it not true?
The SOD however proves that it was delivered and signed for and therefore qualifies for seller protection.
I think it is silly to pay $2.95 for a signature on small valued items.

Yes posting them over the counter and getting the proof of lodgement receipt gives you paypal seller protection.
Keep all the lodgement receipts for at least 45 to 50 days.
I staple mine to the summary I print out in case the tax man wants to see any paper work.

The reason you post over the counter is to make sure it is logged into the tracking system which proves you have posted it.
In most cases if you put it straight in the box it will be scanned and appear in tracking somewhere down the line but it may not happen until it has been delivered and sometimes not at all.

i actually rang paypal for an item that went missing - paypal only needs proof that you sent the item to the addresss on ebay with tracking - not a signature - anyone can sign for it - so the price for signature on delivery is a waste of money - as long as you have a tracking number and the correct address that is proof enough . Hope That helps

For PayPal seller protection you only need proof of postage
If you want you item insured against loss by AP, then you have to pay $2.95 for signature on delivery plus $1.50 for each $100 insurance
