Counterfeit items in bulk lots - Request to fellow Sellers

I've no desire or intention to create a brouhaha but, as a Seller who also Buys here, a brief and courteous request to my fellow Sellers (particularly of bulk lots, esp. watches) to please check what is in your bulk lots and ditch the counterfeit gear that is nestled in amongst the real deal.

I don't want it, I don't want to pay freight for it, I have absolutely no use for it and I'd have no desire to attempt navigating the length of Fretiliser Creek in a vessel of questionable sea-worthiness constructed wholly of exclusion wire with no means of propulsion if I inadvertently on-sell one that my checks failed to pick up was as dodgy as a month old hot dog.

If we both check, risk of problem minimised significantly and this crud can get posted to the nearest landfill or recycling centre where it belongs.

Respectfully, how the heck would the average person know? To me, I'd see a batch of watches. Generally a bulk lot is sold to avoid the hassle of individual listing.

Is there any legal onus on the seller to know if any are fakes? Different if they advertise a lot of 100 Rolex watches as genuine, but a fake Rolex in a bunch of assorted stuff certainly seems acceptable.

Its actually illegally to on sell fake watches, bags, clothing etc.

There is an ebay policy specifically about listing fakes.

Federal laws also.

You can't stick your head in the sand and claim ignorance.
