I sent an item to Tasmania.

It hit Dandenong South a couple of days later. Then Perth 5 days after that. Then Dandenong South 5 days after that. Then reached Tasmania 2 days after that. There is a clear 10 day AP snafu in there.

That's bizarre

I sent 2 packages to Victoria last Wednesday. One is onboard for delivery today. The other is still in Sydney. At Chullora. Probably stuck on the roundabout. Despite being sent at exactly the same time, the one being delivered today went via Strathfield.

My other Victoria parcel is still sitting in Sydney. I'm assuming it is, there's been no further scans since Sunday. I guess it could be on its way to Perth or Darwin.

My express to WA (from NSW) still hasn't had a scan since lodgement on Monday. ETA was today. I know it's going to take longer than that. I just hope my buyer does. I did add a note when I sent the invoice saying delivery is taking longer than normal. I hope he read it.

I find there is no scan between Sydney and the detination delivery centre most times.

Re: Disruptions with Australia Post

“There are hundreds of vacant delivery rounds across the country and under regulation changes which slash services to the public, posties are being directed to start later in the day – forcing them to leave parcels behind, or bring them back at the end of their shifts undelivered, every day across Victoria and the rest of the country,” the posties’ union president Shane Murphy said.

Re: Disruptions with Australia Post

I just find it ridiculous!!! I understand delays, but when a parcel gets to the sorting centre near its destination and then gets sent to a completely other state and then has to sit and wait to be sent who knows where, they're just causing more work for themselves!!!

So sending stuff from VIc to NSW to be sorted and sent back to Vic maximises profit? How?

Re: Disruptions with Australia Post

the reason stuff going from vic to nsw is the post sorting centres in VIC are only running at 1/4 quarter capacity due to the vic COVID restrictions that were placed on auspost all AP are sorting basically in vic atm is mail and express stuff.    Hence why AP is in the 1st lot of easing here in vic to let them get back to running their centres at full capacity but that still a couple weeks away

I am fully aware of that.

That wasn't the premise I was asking about. The premise posted by the member I was responding to was that AP was maximising profit by sending parcels on long trips.
