Is there a bad buyer / suspicious buyer log at ebay HQ?
The more I think about the dsr's etc, I am sure my anxiety comes from the knowledge, due to experience over ten years of selling, that there are some very suspicious and criminal buyers (scammers) out there.
All this talk about buyer protection, but no seller protection from serial offenders who scam..
I would have great peace of mind if I knew that for example <Removed> (not his real name!) , who has been refunded every 2nd purchase for item not recieved, has been flagged and cautioned, or even had his buying privileges revoked due to being high risk.. and his isp number banned to prevent him from doing it again... similiary those who make negative feedback threats on more than two occasions , extortionists etc. There should be a system for sellers to report suspicious buying behavior so that they get a black mark and when they have a few from a few different sellers, they can be kicked out.
If things continue , the scammers will be gettting refunds continuously and ebay will lose big time too..
This 180 day money back bull is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. What could you possibly need 180 days for except to use and re use something , or wear and re wear until the fashions or seasons change again...then onto the next seller sucker..

The only solution is set up your own insurance, jack up the price a bit and set aside funds to cover loss from potential scammers.
I bet that's what this new spring release is all about, push the sellers to charge more, then reap in more fees... they are banking on it.

Just won't work. Buyers are already getting thin on the ground, and if charges (list price/postage) are higher, they just won't buy.

Excellant idea Clarry. If all sellers do this it should help.

I just think ebay should set up a system that allows sellers to flag buyers who display some sort of suspicious activity..
When and if ebay can see some buyers have been given all these flags by multiple sellers, then they can review whether that buyer is a liability to ebay and to sellers and are clearly high risk and get rid of them...
how funny , the moderator removed the fake name I used for an example... maybe someone owned it!

Yes that's a concern.
But I would rather not sell an item, then lose the item, money, return postage and gain depression...

Agree.
I have decided I will not list anything more from now on. Some current listings may roll over into November via the free relists but I haven't yet decided if I will end them on 31 Oct. But I will wait and see how things transpire over November before I decide if I will start listing again.

That's a bit extreme but good on you!
I decided to not giving in to extortions this month and got two negs, didn't hurt my sales a bit.
A negative feedback doesn't scare me, just like a positive feedback doesn't feed me and clothe me.
