Re: Do you really have to go through the whole unpaid item claim and then wait for 4 days I accident

Relisting without going through the unpaid item dispute process has a couple of real (and possible) issues.

You will be paying all fees due on the first sale, as eBay will not know there was a problem. They will assume you were paid by the buyer, so that will be the listing fee (if any) and the final value fees.

If the first buyer pays, they will expect their item, and could be upset enough to report it if you cannot supply the item.

As you might have sold it twice if it sells again now.

So you will lose some money at the least, and might have other problems if the buyer does pay.

Presumably the reason they can't leave bad feedback is because you waited 60 days before relisting.

If you haven't then yes they can still pay for the item then if the item sells on the relist you'll have 2 buyers and almost certainly a neg from one of them.

Always finalise a sale one way or the other before relisting.

The reason sellers open disputes is twofold, to get there fees back and more importantly to have eBay give the non-payer a strike.

Those strikes are what makes the blocks sellers use work in weeding out non-payers in the first place.

Oh and I got a funny feeling that they can still leave feedback...............................

Re: Do you really have to go through the whole unpaid item claim and then wait for 4 days I accident

Ahhh I bow to your wisdom, I presumed if it was relisted that it would automattically disapear from the non payers console and therefore remove their options, I must learn not to presume thanks for the advice I will tow the line and penalise non payers

Much better way to go squircle, you'll get your fees back the non-payer gets the well-deserved strike, and maybe it'll save another

seller from the pain of a non-payer (if they've done it before and other sellers have followed the dispute process.)

Re: Do you really have to go through the whole unpaid item claim and then wait for 4 days I accident

If you open an Unpaid Item Dispute and close it 4 days later (without payment being received) the buyer is not able to leave feedback for you.

With a Mutual Cancellation request both of you are still able to leave feedback.
