Just warning for Ebay AU community. Lately I have sold designer made genuine sunglasses (for over $200) and on receival of the package I was told by the buyer that glass is broken and one arm is missing (these were rimless so if you broke off the arm it snapped piece of glass but rest remained intact). Now I am refunding money but who's done it?- Buyer who needed just one arm for his designer sunnies or some dodgy AU post staff who snapped off one arm just for fun??
Be aware (not that we can do too much about it as ebay is all about trust...)
Cheers

Don't do anything before you either receive the sunnies back in the post or receive a photo from the buyer. And make sure the photo is of Your sunnies, not some old broken pair they might have already had.
This seems like good advice. For $200, the glasses may not even be broken and they've just got a pair of designer sunnies for free... this is why sellers have TOS, even though I'm still not sure how enforcable TOS are. In cases like these, sellers really need to protect themselves and make the buyer prove it was the seller's or other parties fault.

How did you package them?
If there are bits missing did you ask your buyer if the parcel looked like it had been opened/tampered with?
When i send sunnies i either put them in a box if i have one thats the right size, or ill make one up with cardboard, then wrap that in bubble wrap, then newspaper, then into a plastic bag, i post mine in a 500gm satchel, none have ever been broken.

Even if it were AP's fault and they accepted responsibility they would only pay out fifty bucks if they were sent without registration and extra cover so one assumes the seller paid less than $50 for them or they would have used the appropriate postage service to cover the entire cost if lost or damaged.
I can't imagine why the buyer would be lying, if they were posted regular post they could just have said they didn't arrive and kept the 'bits' while getting a full refund.
If you think they are lying and just ripped a part off because the want it ask for them to be returned and once you receive them and have them checked by the manufacturer to make sure they were faulty you will refund in full including return postage.
