Does the "Buy it now" price disappear when there is a first bid?

I had a buy it now price on an item yet when the first bidder palced a bid, the buy it now price was gone. Is that how it works? I never noticed that. When I go to revise my item, the buy it now price is still there.

yes, when a bid is placed, the BIN price disappears.

It's ok that uit is still in your listing that you edit - only you see that, it will stay there unless you edit it out I imagine.

When you listed the item, you must have had a starting price &  a Buy it Now. In that case the Bidder has chosen the lower strating Price. That cancels out the Buy it Now and it now goes to the Auction Format.

If there is only a single bid, and the buyer withdrew that bid, the buy-it-now option would reappear on the live listing.

In Australia yes. The US have both available even when bids on the item.

You cannot edit the price of an auction or remove a buy-it-now price (even when no longer visible to buyers) once a listing has received a bid -

OK, thank you guys, it must be a relatively recent change, not a bad thing I suppose.
