EBay final selling fees are way TOO HIGH

Like a lot of people know eBay selling fees are way over the top and when they also take money from the postage cost that just outright extortion. I sell something for $300 with free postage as I ad postage cost into the price

to make it easier ( when you have a separate postage price eBay still take from postage anyway) and by the time eBay take the cut and I pay postage say of $40 for a larger item I’m lucky to get $200. I wouldn’t mind if  they were only charging a 5% to say 7% max but 15.9% is purely and joke. My question is there any other place to sell car parts not gumtree it’s full of scammers and Facebook people want everything for next to nothing. Someone who has time and money needs to start up another selling platform and wipe eBay off the map or at least make them think twice on their final fees.

I’m not going to use eBay any more for selling anything.

This not an airport... there is no need to announce your departure.

I’ve been a member since 2008 and sell infrequently. I cannot believe the fees I’m charged as a percentage of the value of the goods

I keep reading  responses about the wonderful service that eBay provides and access to a large marketplace and that 15% of the sale price is a reasonable fee to pay.  I don’t see how eBay can justify that method of charging fees as a percentage of the value of the goods.

All the Listings for items for sale whether they are $.10 or $10,000 are the same yet the fee or I would say sales commission is a percentage of the value of the goods and doesn’t represent value to any of the sellers because the listings are the same in format and information and reach to customers it should not be a percentage of the value of the goods. It should be a flat rate.
I recently sold the guitar and was charged $200 for the listing fee   I can’t recall any of my previous sales being charged such a ridiculous percentage .  I’m not going to use eBay any more for selling anything.

Firstly it's not 15% its a percent or 2 below that,  lets get that right.

Sure a flat rate fee sounds good.   But if you averaged it out over all sales on Ebay,  it may have to be set to $7.92 per item (made up number by my cat, so no science behind the number),   so you would have to pay Ebay more than your 10 cent item you mention, so you are removing a large percentage of sales on Ebay,  so they would have to make that $7.92, say $20.83 to make money, so there goes another big chunk of sales,  you see where I am heading,  soon you dont have a platform to sell your guitar,  I guess you could go try the scammers on market place I guess.  Estate Agents, auction houses, cattle sales, etc, etc, etc, are all done on a percentage basis, I wonder why?

You have announced your departure, but you still have items listed,  dont forget to collect the $'s and pay your fee's.

Good plan

You agreed to the fees when you were listing

How long you have been a member has zero to do with anything
