Hi all,
Now I am sure there will be quite a few of you in the same boat as me. We send some 75-80% of our orders using standard post (Letter Post) we also want to offer registered (with a signature) for the additional $3.20 the same as Auspost charge, now with all the changes Ebay / Auspost have made there is no longer these options available to us. So all you get now is Standard delivery then various options for "PARCEL / Express Parcel, Parcel Parcel Parcel, I do not send Parcels, that often, so has anyone come up with a solution how to overcome the issue of listing items with the additional Standard Post charges (NOT PARCEL). I have been using the option of Std Parcel Registered and or Std Parcel + Signature to read these are going also and if we do not update the listings we will get the items blocked until such times we do update.
Thoughts and also complaints we could put forward to Ebay please.
Look forward to reading....

Until they get their act together, enter the cost to include registered, then state clearly in your TOS or description the item will be sent registered as still an option according to how you send them. ie via letter post.

Hi I have just raised much the same issue. Perhaps if ebay australia had looked at past postage options used by sellers and had also understood Australia Posts changes we would still have a registered letter option.

I got a notice this morning that ebay is also removing the regular parcel post with tracking option.
Which appears a little strange given that AP spruke that all parcels are now tracked ?????
Any items with this option may/will be removed and leaving them there may/will impact on your search standings

I forgot to add I believe ebay want sellers to categorize their postage options correctly so that they can get more valid usage statistics..... to... wait for it
..... shaft sellers with the ROOTP (royal order of the prong) in the not too distant future with a line like :
" We have listened to buyers and they want postage delivery iron clad with a cherry on top so therefore you will post as we say"... with the normal ebay disclaimer
"btw remember we are not involved in the transaction and can give no assurances about anything or anybody at any time"
....... well they can go jump
.. I will just be using the regular and standard options etc....
even if I send a package with a zillion dollars insurance, SOD, a urine test, fingerprints and a DNA swab upon arrival

But wait ... it gets even better !!
Ebay NOW want sellers to offer FREE postage again to ensure they are even FOUND...new notice re new TOP SELLER PLUS status ....... yes, just when aust post shaft everyone so does ebay, once again !
http://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/top_rated_plus/FAQs
2.What are the new Top Rated Plus requirements?
The following service standards need to be included for a listing to qualify as Top Rated Plus:
•Free postage to Australian Buyers
•0 or 1-day handling time
•Express postage option offered
•30-day money back returns or better.
3.What are the benefits?
•A Top Rated Plus badge in your listings and search results page
•Increased search and site visibility.
This last 'benefit' is admission that not all listings are readily findable, & that being the case I would like to know of another business out there that accepts payment for a 'product' i.e. our listings, & offers NO guarantee that the service you are paying for will actually be of benefit to the seller/client [buyer of the ebay service in this instance]
It begs the question just how many people are paying to list on ebay & having their product buried in some black hole .... if you need to WIN BENEFITS of listing to be found !!!.
If I paid for an advertisement in a newspaper & they accepted my money but couldn't guarantee the ad would even appear I'd think twice about handing over my money, wouldn't you ? So is this the 'catch' to the new free listings........we are no longer taking money from listers so how can we be doing the wrong thing if their items can't be found ?

& then in regard to tracking ....... if this isn't convoluted I don't know what is !
Is there a tracking requirement?
There is not a tracking requirement at this time, but uploading tracking is highly recommended as it gives buyers confidence that their item is on its way. Tracking is also a requirement for PayPal Seller Protection in the event a claim is made that the item was lost in transit. You may also be eligible to receive automatic 5 star DSRs from your buyers by uploading tracking information, see our Selling Practices Policy.
