I have just had a thought which might help sellers and buyers avoid all or most of the problems associated with the recent changes to EBay.
For example, I only just found out that buyers disputes are handled in the country of the buyer and not the country of the seller. The rules are different. For a seller in Australia handling an INR dispute. Proof of mailing is required if buyer is in Australia, proof of receipt if buyer is in UK. -- This is an example, but I might have it all wrong, hence the need for a manual.
I am looking for co-authors to produce an up-to-date manual, giving accurate advice. Is anybody up to the task?
Best wishes

It has been talked about in the past but ends up in the Too Hard basket for the simple reason that by the time you finish it the rules will have changed once again.
And where are you going to find definitive answers to things like the Money Back Guarantee when ebay seems to be making it up as they go along.
Good luck.

I don't think a hard copy book would work for the reasons Lyndal mentioned.....changes happen too often. However, an e-book or even a guide that can be revised as necessary might work.

Robert - there are several books out there already but they become outdated very quickly due to the constant changes.
As far as INR disputes go - if the buyer opens a case through ebay for INR in Australia sellers now have to be able to provide proof of delivery. This came into effect last November.

I saw eBay for dummies at my local library the other day.
Sadly it was way back when (over 12 years old from memory) so nothing would be valid now.
Hell, eBay change the rules, policies and procedures so often, no way a book could keep up - it would have to be an ebook with ability for a multitude of updates on a weekly basis! LOL

The most suitable kind of resource would be something like a blog, I'd say, since the pages and posts can be updated as needed. Any kind of static document will expire, so you need a dynamic one.
I don't think you can use 'eBay' in a website name, though.

Something like this then. When I have questions I always come here and often find the answer I'm looking for 🙂
