Hi there,
I listed an item twice - using differnt pics and different decription but exact same price and shipping. Different categories but I checked the categories should fall under the same fees.
Home & Garden
Sporting Goods
Why is it one item is being charged $1.58 final value fee (10%) - but the other one is $1.28? (8%)
Obviously Im going to scrap the expensive one but I'm trying to figure out why there is a difference.
The only thing I can think of is I listed the more expensive one BEFORE taking out a shop subscription but I remember seeing it said my current listings would be automatically added to discounts. - But that doesnt seem to be the case that listing is still getting charged 10% Final Value Fees.
And I'm confused is to why the fee is 8% for Sporting Goods - On their fees page it says it should be 9.1% with a Basic Store Subscription?
Any light on this would be great thankyou!

That is actually why - when you list an item, you agree to the FVF for a specified contractual term (for good til cancelled listings, this is a 1 month duration), and so the fees at the point of listing apply until that duration has passed. When it ticks over to a new listing cycle, now that you have a store, the pre-existing "contract" is void and the listing fees for the shop will apply. (This works in reverse, as well. If you end your store subscription, your listings will have the lower fee applied if they sell before they tick over into a new cycle, and the higher non-store fee thereafter - and just in case anyone is wondering, it's not really worth subscribing to a store for a day to list items and then unsubscribing, as you have to pay a full month's sub fee at a minimum, regardless).
I'm not sure about the fee on sporting goods - I know they are being bumped up to tier 4 under managed payments, which is the highest tier for fees, but they are currently in a lower tier. My best guess is the info on the help page is listing the new fees, but the older, lower fees are still in place.
