Ebay has become so BORING!!

 approx. 300 listings currently and I have 2 bids.....its been like this for at least a month.  and I know reading on the boards its not just me!!! YAWN!  free listings would be nice and I don't want to shoot myself in the foot, however free listings really don't help much if people aren't buying!

I can see only normal Aus post but I can see the pleading for bank deposit twice in the listing I opened, far more text about the terms etc than for the description, not a good look and any hint that a seller prefers bank deposit sends me even qucker to the Paypal site.

already discussed PJ, and point taken. (if I don't write my preference once in smaller font, theres zilch chance of bank deposit payment as Ebay make it so hard to find those details these days).

Buyers have no protection if they pay by bank deposit. They shouldn't be encouraged to use it by sellers imo.

The OP is not discouraging payment methods.

The statement only indicates seller preference and the honest reason why.

If the statement said the seller does not accept or charged buyer additional fees for safe payment method, that is discouraging use.

It is similar to stating as millions of sellers do - I prefer cash on pick up

AM stating a preference isn't discouraging? I have seen other sellers write this. I have seen others write that they will only accept bank dep. ...! that's not allowed. I understand they don't get paypal protection, however my reason is I don't pay the fees on bank deposit. I don't plan to let down my buyers. back to ebay being boring.... and practically non existent

Buyers don't know if there are going to be any issues with a seller later before they buy an item ... Item not received, item not as described... Things that are may be covered by Paypal when things might go wrong.
Scammed by a bad seller.

There is no advantage to the buyer if they pay by bank deposit. But there can be serious disadvantages.

I don't think ebay is boring, nor practically non existant.

I would be seriously concerned with a seller, who had in Sept. a notice still on their listings that they were going on holiday over 3 months ago though.
Makes me wonder what else they don't keep up to date with.

I would have no hesitation of buying from them.

I would note their preference for bank deposit and pay by paypal.

Its not a biggie, stop making out as if it is.
