I recently sold an item, the buyer on receipt started a not as described case. He uploaded a picture of a damaged unit which is not the one I sent him. It is dirty and scratched and has a broken connector. It also has a large gold screw stud on it which was not on the unit I sent him.
I asked for a picture of the serial number of the unit and another of the damage. He sent via messaging a picture of the serial number which is correct and one of the unit which is the one I sent ie is clean and unscratched, does not have the gold stud but now has the same damage to it as the unknown unit he pictured in his claim ie the unit he now indicates he recieved is a different unit to the one which is basis of his claim.
I have contacted three different Ebay reps, all say the same "seller protection is a high priority to Ebay" then show no interesting in reviewing any evidence you have to support your side of the story.
All reps say is Ebay protects their good sellers in the following way, accept the return then indicate you have a received a damage return item then offer a 50% refund and we will do the reset. In other words we know the buyer is playing the system but we don't care. Take the 50% loss or you will loose the case. I assume they will fork out the difference to the buyer.
In other words we will give the benefit of the doubt to the buyer but the seller takes a 50% hit.
The buyer even gloated in his messaging "I'll return your faulty unit to you and I'll get my refund"
All I wanted was them to look at the evidence and and tell me why they would not cancel the claim they were not the slightest bit interested. I have lodged a compalint with the ACCC, the only way things might change is if other sellers do they same thing.

The Cel Booster?
I would go file a police report for fraud, then upload the file number to eBay…of course you can’t do that until you get your/their item back, but certainly can let eBay/buyer know via case notes that that is your intention…good luck!
