Ebay invoices and world clocks

Hi Everyone

Looking at my March invoice I noticed that 4 FVF from April were included in the March invoice. Has anyone else noticed this? They were bought on the morning of 1/4/2014. Ebay initially said that once the invoice was generated there was nothing they could do. I said this was rubbish they could issue a credit note and manually regenerate the March invoice. This went on for a bit with her saying OK a lot and me saying no it is not OK... anyway after several minutes of being on hold, she said they would credit the 4 FVF fees  one time only but if it happens again they will not. I pointed out that this was not ebay doing me a favour but rectifying their mistake. Ebay will escalate this but did not think anything would hapen soon about it as they had other issues to deal with etc.

So if anyone else has come across them using the US clock for invoicing (when it is to their advantage) please get in touch with them as they might rectify this error sooner if they are having to credit more sellers.

Another issue I noticed while on the phone is I had a customer that BIN an item and paid immediately using paypal. On my ebay sales it says sale date 3/4/2014 and payment made on 2/4/2014 So according to ebay they paid a day before they purchased.

As we are all on ebay Australia I feel we should be using Australia time not US time for everything not when it suits them. After all they remove any free listings left using Australia time.

OK rant over

As far as I am aware they have always used US time. 18 hours behind us so your sale 1.4.14 purchase is correct in US time. It really doesn't make a lot of difference to me.

It is more to do with them not using just one time be it US or AU. For the free listings and sale date they use AU and for FVF and customers purchase date they use US. They should pick a Time zone and stick to it IMHO.

yes but from their point of view it would be a nightmare for them using each different country time zone for the accounting side of business. How many different ebay's and time zones are there. Then if we all used US time for listing well auctions would also be a nightmare.

Impossible for them to do that....I can't really see how it matters too much - example $20.00 fees charged in last month - won't be charged next month.

I had a purchase go through a day earlier than I paid and therefore didn't have enough money in my bank account when the transaction finally showed up but the bank being a sensible lot didn't do a thing about it because they are probably used to Paypal transactions being dated a day before funds enter the account.
