FVF not showing on sell page anymore

I made a listing this morning and noticed that the "you will be charged a final value fee" line does not tell you what the fvf is now. 

I can work it out for myself, but always found it handy to have it on display. 

I wonder if it's a glitch or because ebay don't actually want you to see the fvf now that the new fees have come in?

Has anyone else noticed this?

The ACCC has already stated quite clearly that they will not be investigating eBay's decision to impose FVF on postage (or any of the other practices recently brought to their attention), so contacting them about it is going to be a waste of time I'm afraid.

As much as I disagree with the new fees, and some of the possible consequences of not conforming to eBay's 'suggested' business model, right now I personally feel my time is better spent on my business than directing energy at something that has already been made clear is ultimately fruitless. 

Just as an aside, eBay state that 30% of buyers search exclusively for free post items. Sound like you're going to miss out on a lot of traffic if you don't switch, right? That's the point of statistics like that, given in the context of 'encouraging' sellers to do what eBay want them to... But all that stat tells me is one thing some buyers are looking for - I have no idea what other kinds of search parameters buyers who use the 'free postage' filter are using, what they might be looking for, and what other kinds of things that drive their purchase decisions, so the stat - IMHO - is utterly useless to me. Keeping in mind that I have tested the free post thing a couple of times, and each time it killed my sales. I do significantly better with P&H stated separately, so the same kinds of strategies don't work for everyone. I just concentrate on what my buyers tell me they prefer, not what eBay tells me "all buyers want". 😉

Ummm have the ACCC put out a media release I have missed ?

Or are you referring to the standard response that was sent to those who lodged a complaint about final value fees being included in post which is a pricing issue which is not in the remit of the ACCC to investigate anyway.

The ACCC has been known to cave to sustained pressure from consumers on matters within its remit, but pursuing pricing will bring no satisfaction IMO.

IMO there are still a range of other matters that are worth pursuing.

Yes, I'm referring to that... But if it's not the ACCC's jurisdiction to investigate, I'm pretty sure they won't.

Sadly, I raised a number of issues when I contacted them, none of which were specifically about FVF on postage, and got exactly the same reply everyone else; no indication whatsoever that anyone paid even a minute amount of attention to what I was saying. 😕

Whilst the ACCC won't investigate the matter of fees, there are other things clearly in its remit - for example a very current case:

ACCC chairman Rod Sims says the regulator will be arguing that several behaviours by Coles breached the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

"The ACCC alleges that Coles used undue pressure and unfair tactics in negotiating with suppliers, provided misleading information and took advantage of its superior bargaining position,so that its overall conduct was in all the circumstances unconscionable," he said in a statement.

True, and I guess I'm a little shame-faced to admit I haven't pursued my concerns further, but the honest truth is I just don't have the energy to try and fight against something (keeping in mind I'm not talking about FVF on postage, that's a different thing) that I know was ultimately a vague, unofficial inference, as well as the fact that I have no tangible evidence to back up my claims.

That's probably why my questions weren't taken seriously, though.

I imagine a range of actions will be followed up by others.

I imagine that there may be a focus too on some individual business sellers (via State authorities) that have publically stated they just add the post costs onto their item price and then list as free post.

Yes i emailed them after seeing there store empty, they had taken there store off line for a few days to re organise there store to meet eBay's new policy's

Yes no point complaining when nothing will ever change its either stay put up and shut up OR GO!! 

From August, a seller’s star rating will drop only after negative feedback from at least eight buyers.

and ebay satchels click and send bags will stop in 2 weeks any one know more about this?
