Feedback as a % of overall Sales

Hello,

I am compiling a study on the % of buyers whom actually give feedback (allbeit very simplified). I dont need to know actual numbers of what you sell, sales or other data.

If you get the time I just need to know your feedback (as a %). All you need to do (and today is a good guide being end of the month) is take the number of total feedback, Positive+Neutral+negative for this month and divide it by your total number of actual sales from the 20th September 2016 to the 20th October 2016 (inclusive).

For example Seller ABC has 30 positive feeback for 1 month, 1 Neutral and 1 Negative. Therefore, total 32. Th same seller by looking into All Orders found they had 75 sales from the 20th September to and including 20th October. So, 32 divided by 75 equals, 42.66%.

I know this will take 5 minutes or so to compile and write, but really really appreciate those that do and thank you in advance.

Remember, ONLY the end % is what I need.

Cheers

Smiley Surprised First time I have seen feedback with no green dots.

Mine sits around 80% - 85% from buyers.

But as a buyer I give around 98%. (Don't leave feedback on some that I wasn't totally satisfied)

It appears the OP does not believe in giving positive feedback.  All they are interested in is complaining.

The OP's own statistics would make interesting reading.

I would need to know WHY the OP wants the info.

My initial reaction is "none of your business", and I'm certainly not going to take even 5 minutes of my time to reinforce some unknown probable prejudice

THEIR feedback left is certainly a small percentage of what they receive, although they seem to have hit three of the five sellers they've bought from in the last 6 months. And not left any for the other two.

My initial reaction was also MYOB.

A survey like this won't tell anyone anything because there are too many variables.

Some people never ever leave feedback.

Some people only leave negs.

Some people buy 10 items but only leave one feedback as a courtesy gesture to let the seller know the items arrived.

Some sellers are rude or have appalling service so they don't get much feedback.

Some sellers' items are borderline for description, etc, so they don't get much feedback.

Some sellers bend over backwards for their buyers and they may get higher feedback than average.

Bottom line:  knowing what the average is (and a small sampling of forum members ISN'T necessarily representative of all sellers) won't help anyone improve their percentage.

Why ?

Why are you doing a study ?

Who will benefit from the study ?

To add to your list Rose, buyers who buy 20 items and leave feedback for all. The seller may have sold 25 items with the other 5 items being sold to the same buyer. It would be inaccurate because it would show 100% of buyers leaving feedback on 25 sales, yet it's only 2 people, not 25.

I'm not wasting my time. Not when there is no mention of who wants this info and why.

Edit: OP, why not do a study on yourself to try and work out the percentage of positive feedback you've left for sellers. That would be an interesting study.

I think this is the crux of the matter.  A lot of us mention our stats in the forums anyway, but why would we go to the trouble of working it out for a study that's essentially of no use to anyone?

A more accurate gauge of how many buyers leave feedback is to work out how many buyers we've had in a month and then count how many of them have left feedback.  I find it varies from month to month.  Last year I had an order for over 100 different items and I really didn't expect the buyer to leave feedback for all of them, and she didn't (she did quite a few though).
