Just received my first ever negative feedback which is a little disheartening.
I waited 12 days to receive payment from my buyer and after several messages with no response i sent a unpaid item dispute. After doing this he paid the item later that same day. The next day I went and posted the item at the post office and marked the item as shipped. 3 hours later the buyer leaves me a negative feedback with the comment 'Thanks'.
What are the chances of me getting this feedback removed from eBay as this negative feedback has nothing to do with the performance of me as a seller and that also this negative feedback is also a postive sounding comment?

Negative feedback is always disheartening especially under these circumstances.
The first thing to do is to try and work it out with the buyer and see if they will agree to revise the feedback. Ebay do expect sellers to try and resolve a problem first before contacting them.
You could email the buyer and say something along the lines of that you were very disappointed to receive negative feedback as you had posted the item within one business day of receiving payment so you are not sure why they chose to leave negative feedback without contacting the seller first. Also ask them if there is anything you can do to resolve the problem they have.
Depending on their response you may be able to work out whether you think they will agree to revise it or not. Definitely don't mention anything about revising the feedback in your inital email to them.
If they respond saying something along the lines of they left negative feedback as you opened a dispute then ebay will certainly look at that.
Once you have tried to sort it out with the buyer, if they won't revise it, contact ebay and explain the situation to them and also that you did try to sort it out with the buyer. Just make sure you keep all messages within the ebay message system as ebay can then access those messages.

Well looks like the first person I talked to at eBay ddn't know what she was talking about or just lied to me. I called again after receiving no response and now I am told that they cannot remove the feedback as they are breaking no eBay policy.
Even though he could see that it was a postive comment with a negative feedback and after telling him they sent the feedback on the same day I shipped the item there is nothing they can do except for me to send a revision request to the buyer to change the feedback, which so far the buyer is unwilling to do.
Not cool.

I wouldn't worry about it, before I read through your OP I checked the neg, and at first sight (which all buyers will see) because they had put 'thanks' I simply assumed it was an error due to customer using phone or ipad and it would not have put me off buying from you at all.

We hear your pain..there is no controlling people's bad moods and impatience or whatever (you wouldnt beleive the unfounded nonsense people claim in some transactions)..we'll wear a NEG if it is warranted..but like yourself and thousands of other sellers who go out of their way to please the customer..we still get shafted by buyers..as we said in a previous post.. the NEG feedback option needs to be brought back for sellers to place against unfair and unreasonable buyers..
